Link Building frauds and SEO Scams

image Now a days, almost every web owner knows what is SEO and why it is important to be found on search engines for their specific keywords. As general knowledge of Web Owners about SEO is increasing, more and more SEO Scams are growing along with.

Those scammers effectively use Google Adwords and other advertising medias to trap Web Owners with little startup knowledge about SEO. They use the “BUZZ WORDS” like “Link Building”, “Social Media Bookmarking”, “Dominate Google”, etc to attract. For example, for a person who assumes that “More Links means better ranking on Google”, will definitely be attracted When he will get the offer, “Get 1000 links in 39$”.

I mean, he would probably think that why he needs to pay a SEO Professional hundreds of dollars every month for building contents and generating few links when he can get 1000 links in 39$? Ofcourse, links are useful, but only with proper context and from good authority sites. Links without proper context don’t add any value, rather they can adversely effect your existing site reputation.

It also brings a simple question in mind: If SEO is really so cheap and easy then why those scammers are not on top 10 of Google? :) SEO is not cheap.

Here are some of regular SCAMs i found about SEO and specially Link Building:

  • 100 bookmarks to Social media in 29$:

Social Media bookmarking is usually for Articles or special contents. Besides, often Social Media Websites and specially niche websites delete such bookmarks (Created by so called Bookmark Link Building Service Providers) which they feel are SPAM and don’t add value to their audience.

  • Submission to 10,000 Directories:

There are thousands of directories, but not all directories are worth to submit. Specialized niche Directories usually don’t accept links out of their niche. Also few most important directories like Dmoz and Yahoo Directory have strict rules and just don’t accept the links, unless strict criteria are met.

  • Quality Back Links in 9.99$

Come on…. Are you kidding? This site even doesn’t have its physical address or phone number mentioned on website. When i asked them on live chat, where your website ranks on Google? They had no reply.

  • Dominate Google with a 999$ (Now for 49$ only) Software

imageThis is another regular scam. Usually such scammers make a mini website (1 Page), with lots of screen shots showing thousands of Dollars coming to their account. They usually claim that with their software or Tips or Secrets, you will become rich over night, and Google will start showing your site on Top.

I mean, if you are really earning so much, Why you need to disclose your tips. Keep on earning. These types of sites are usually marketed through affiliates. So they give 50% to their affiliate also. 4% to PayPal. So what do they earn at the end by revealing their top secret?

You will find huge number of such links at Twitter, Face book and ofcourse in your inbox.

  • 30,000 Targeted Visitors in 9.99$

There are two methods to generate such so called targeted visitors.

  1. By using Automated software, that just visit your website automatically using proxies.
  2. Using pop ups, that open with pirated movies, music and porn sites automatically. And What you do with these pop ups? ofcourse you close them immediately, even before they show up any thing.

But both techniques show traffic in your analytics. And you remain a happy customer.

  • Guaranteed Indexing in 48 Hours / Guaranteed Top-10 Listing
The question is: Do scammers own Google?
Although SEO experts can give commitments based on their experience and expertise, But no one can give guarantee.
